Changing the norm

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Gold Coast - Australia, 12 months ago.

Normally when on location for and event, the events team department heads are allocated a room at the official hotel.

πŸ”€ For this event we switched things up and rented an AirBnB.

Why?

- Financial (cost effective with accommodation)

- Team bonding (essential to foster trust & unity, with events, if one fails we all fail).

- Productivity (notice the time on the clock, essential planning & the usual event prep tasks carried out together in a relaxed way).

- Embracing local culture (when you are stuck in a hotel, you don’t realise what the country you are in is really about. Being placed in an AirBnB in the heart of a residential area, gives greater understanding, more than I can write here).

So, changing traditions and old ways of doing things may have many short and long term benefits if you are willing to embrace change. πŸ™ŒπŸ»
